St Cuthbert church wedding.
When I met Sophie & Chris last year they told me of their plans to get married at their local church in Brislington, St Cuthbert church. I only live round the corner so it was really nice to be asked to photograph a wedding so close to home.
I met Sophie at her mum’s house where she was getting ready with her family and bridesmaids. The girls were all in good spirits and had a little toast to mark the occasion.
I left as Sophie was about to put her dress on, she was running a few minutes behind but I needed to go on ahead to meet Chris at the church. As I got there he was stood outside with a huge smile on his face greeting his guests as they arrived.
Getting to the venue before the bride gave me the opportunity to take some pictures of the church. I drive past St Cuthbert church almost every day but I have never actually been inside so it was a pleasant surprise to see just how lovely the interior is.
Once the bridesmaids had arrived I went outside to wait with them for the brides car. Sophie looked lovely as she stepped out wearing her beautiful long white dress. Her mum proudly walked her down the aisle to a happy awaiting groom.
The hour long church ceremony had two readings as well as hymns sung in between. A harpist also played for the couple which was a lovely touch.
A church like this a photographers dream being filled with lovely light and also being large enough to allow me to move around capturing the couple from various angles without interrupting the ceremony.
Once the service was over, confetti was thrown outside on the steps. We then stopped to have a few group photo’s before the couple headed in the hired rolls royce to their wedding reception venue at the Bristol hotel.
The Bristol hotel overlooks the Harbourside which was a great location for the couple to have some photo’s together, we also headed over to Queens square opposite for a bit of variation.
The wedding breakfast was ready by the time we arrived back to the hotel. The speeches were between the main meal and pudding. The brides brother in law started the speeches followed by the groom and then his father who was best man.
I finished my day as the couple cut their cake. The music themed cake was quite spectacular and fitted their love of music perfectly.
If you are getting married at St Cuthbert church or having a Bristol church wedding then please get in touch I would love to hear from you.
