North Bristol wedding – Aztec West hotel
When I first met Angela & Stephen they told me of their plans for their North Bristol wedding. They were to marry at St Michael’s church in Stoke Gifford and follow with their wedding reception at the Aztec West hotel.
On the day I met Angela at her mum’s house where she was getting ready with her family. Sat having her hair done she seemed nice and calm looking forward to the day ahead.
The church is just a few minutes from her mum’s home but as they were running a little behind I had to leave to find parking and get set up ready for her arrival.
Outside the church I found lots of people gathered on the grass including Stephen who was talking with his guests.
The hour long church ceremony soon flew by with two readings and a few hymns. We stopped for family pictures and confetti throwing outside before heading to the Aztec West hotel.
On arrival the wedding party were greeted with pimms and some nibbles on the lovely sunny terrace. I then took the couple portraits in the gardens. The terrace over looks a small pond with some stepping stones making it the ideal spot.
Speeches were done before the wedding breakfast. We heard how the couple had met whilst training and had then stayed in contact despite living miles apart. The best man gave an emotional speech about how happy he was for his cousin who he had grown up with.
The evenings entertainment started with the phoenix wind band which the bride plays in. Playing their first wedding they tailored the set to include some Frank Sinatra tunes.
The band also played happy birthday for the groom as the guests sang along. At least Stephen getting married on his birthday means he will never forget his anniversary.
First dance followed to ‘Your song’ Ellie Goulding. The photo booth was then opened, you can see the blog of the Aztec West hotel wedding photo booth here.
