Lydia & Sam’s Hyde Barn wedding

It’s a pleasure being a Cotswolds wedding photographer as the area is stunning. Hyde barn is no exception, the perfectly converted barn makes an ideal wedding venue. Set in it’s own beautiful grounds it was clear to see why Lydia & Sam had chosen to get married there. In fact they had picked the venue especially to suit their country wedding theme. Not living very near their guests all travelled to celebrate with them.

Arriving early I got there in time for hair and makeup. The bridal suite is well designed with lots of natural light pouring in from the roof skylights. The light fell beautifully over the girls as they were getting ready. They were all in good spirits and happily chatting with lots of visitors popping in and out all wanting to say hello.

Sam was beaming when he saw Lydia walking down the aisle. The short civil ceremony had just one reading so didn’t last too long allowing them to get outside and enjoy the glorious sunshine.

Guests lined up either side of the arbour to throw confetti as the couple walked through the middle. The arbour is a great feature of the barn and I used it for several photo opportunities throughout the day including a night scene.

The grounds of Hyde barn wedding venue are stunning, we were spoilt for choice with plenty of backdrops for the couple portraits. The couple claimed not to be very photogenic but I thought Lydia & Sam were very natural around each other and were great to photograph.

Food was served before speeches which were kicked off by Sam’s two brothers. Lydia’s best friend and sister also spoke. The speeches proved very emotional with a few tears but generally lots of laughter. Lydia has a very infectious laugh anyway which is enough to make anyone around her smile.

First dance kicked off the evenings shenanigans and believe me these guests knew how to party. The dance floor was filled all night completely forgetting it was only a Thursday. Everyone was in high spirits and enjoying themselves.
